FAQ
Hydration Balm
How much should I use?
Use a pea-sized amount. A little goes a long way once warmed between clean fingers.
Is it oily skin friendly?
Yes. Focus on dry areas or as a night step only until your skin rebalances its natural oil production.
Is this suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The formula is designed to support the skin barrier and is free from synthetic fragrance, essential oils, parabens and phthalates. As with any new product, patch test first.
What skin type is best suited?
Our products are effective for all skin types including sensitive skin due to the ingredients mimicking the skins natural lipid profile.
AM or PM?
Both. This won’t strip your natural barrier so using morning and night won’t irritate your skin.
Can I wear the balm under makeup and SPF?
Yes apply sparingly and onto clean skin, allowing it to fully absorb into the skin before makeup.
Will it clog pores?
No. Our hydration balm supports the skin barrier function without congesting pores due to the low comedogenic properties of the ingredients. Those prone to congestion may prefer it as a night step or targeted to dry areas.
Can I use this with active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C)?
Yes. The balm works well layered over active treatments to help reduce dryness and support the skin barrier. Apply actives first, allow them to absorb, then seal with the balm.
Can I use when pregnant or nursing?
Our two cofounders used it throughout pregnancy and nursing. If unsure, consult your practitioner.
Is your products vegan and cruelty-free?
The Hydration Balm is not vegan as it contains beeswax. It is cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
Does it contain fragrance or essential oils?
No. The balm is formulated without added fragrance or essential oils, making it suitable for sensitive or reactive skin.
How long will it take my skin to adapt to natural products?
When switching to natural skincare, your skin may go through a short adjustment period as it rebalances. This can last up to 2 weeks and may include mild breakouts or congestion coming to the surface, often in areas you’re already prone to.
This is temporary and should settle as the skin barrier adjusts. If irritation or breakouts persist beyond a month, it may indicate sensitivity rather than purging, and we recommend reducing use or discontinuing the product.
Cleansing Oil
How much should I use?
Massage 2-3 drops directly to face for 30 seconds. Use warm water and a washcloth to gently remove.
What skin type is best suited?
This cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types, including oily, combination and sensitive skin. Its lipid profile mimics natural sebum, allowing it to cleanse without disrupting the skin barrier.
Will this make my skin oilier?
No. Oil cleansing helps dissolve excess sebum and impurities without stripping the skin, which can help rebalance oil production over time.
Does it leave a residue?
No. When removed with warm water and a washcloth as directed, the cleanser leaves the skin clean, soft and not greasy.
Can I use this around the eyes?
Yes. The formula is gentle enough for the eye area and can be used to remove eye makeup. Avoid direct contact with eyes.
Does it remove makeup and SPF?
Yes. The oil effectively breaks down makeup, sunscreen and daily impurities. For heavier makeup, massage onto dry skin for longer before rinsing off with water and a wash cloth.
Is it suitable for acne-prone or congested skin?
Yes. When used correctly, oil cleansing can help lift congestion and impurities from the pores. Those prone to breakouts may benefit from following with a second cleanse.
